Oxford University - Conceptual Design

Redefining how kids learn money management.

Overview

In 2022, I had the exciting opportunity to design a conceptual brand identity for the Oxford University Africa Conference, one of the largest Africa-focused events hosted by students at the University of Oxford. The challenge was to capture the essence of African innovation, leadership, and cultural diversity, while maintaining the academic prestige associated with Oxford. I approached the project with a design philosophy rooted in modern minimalism blended with bold, cultural symbolism, creating a striking visual system that could stand confidently on a global stage. The centerpiece was a dynamic logomark inspired by African motifs and patterns, radiating energy and progress.

The color palette, typography, and layout systems were intentionally chosen to evoke professionalism, cultural pride, and forward-thinking. The design extended across multiple brand touchpoints including posters, digital screens, merchandise, and social media mockups, demonstrating how the identity could adapt fluidly to both physical and digital experiences.

Conclusion

This project allowed me to explore the power of thoughtful design in shaping narratives around African excellence and global collaboration. It remains one of my most fulfilling creative experiences—one where design met purpose and possibility.
